I used to race at this local 1/8 buggy track, so I thought it would be a fun place to take the TT-02. I also figured “TT-02 rally car vs. 1/8 buggy track” might make a good video.

It turned out to be more fun than I expected.
A few things stood out:
- Jumps: The jumps were obviously too big for the TT-02 to clear like a 1/8 buggy, but it still got plenty of airtime and handled the track surprisingly well.
- Tire choice: The rally tires hooked up better, while the stock tires were more fun for sliding around.
- Friction shocks: They’re pretty bouncy and offer very little damping. It’s less noticeable on my softer backyard track.
- Suspension balls: Hard impacts can pop the front suspension balls out of their sockets. They’re easy to pop back in, but it’s not my favorite design. Stronger aftermarket options are available if you plan to run the TT-02 this hard.
- Overall: The TT-02 surprised me. If there were a class for it, I think we could actually race one here—it would just be more of a fun/playaround class than serious racing.

What I Learned: The TT-02 is tougher and more capable than I expected. Sometimes you just have to stop testing and Let’s Drive.
