Hobbywing EZRun 18A Sensorless Brushless ESC/Motor Combo (12.0T/7800kV)
This system is ranked #1 for a few reasons. Hobbywing has made a great name for itself and is hard to go wrong with them. I would recommend only running the car on 2s for this the 7800kv motor will have the best performance. It comes with a program card in the box – Really good if you trying to tune the ESC for the track or setting up your lipo cut-off.

Hobbywing 1/18 EZRun 18A Brushless ESC/Motor Combo (18.0T/5200kV) and Program Card
The only difference with this system is the motor. It’s not as good on 2s but will have longer run times run cooler and the possibility of running 3s. This would also be a better motor if you’re running on grass or have taller tires where you need more torque/load.

SURPASS HOBBY 2430 7200KV/5800KV Motor With 25A Brushless ESC Combo for 1/18 RC Car
This is the best bang for the buck system. Surpass Hobby is a strong competitor to Hobbywing and often overlooked for they are not sold in the big name hobby stores (so yeah there is a bit less support) other than that think of it as a budget Hobbywing with nearly equal quality and performance. Vs Hobbywing – The ESC seems to have less tuning capability (not as good) but it being a 4-pole motor it should have more performance on 2s LiPo.

This is a good System if you need a Servo too. It’s basically the same setup as the Surpass but is the lowest Brand on the list. The servo is listed to have good speed .10 at 4.8v

Castle Creations Mamba Micro X2 Waterproof 1/18th Scale Brushless Combo (5300Kv)
The only reason I would buy this Brushless Combo is if I was running in the wet or 3S only. This is mostly overpowered and over budget for me to recommend at the top. Also a good system for speed runs.

It comes stock with a brush 280 size motor.
What size brushless motor can I run on the Losi Mini?
The outer diameter of a Losi Mini (B or T) is 24mm. To play it safe you would not want to exceed this limit. Note: some brushless motors will have a smaller diameter.
The length could also play a factor. The stock length is around 30mm. The max safe length is around 45mm.
How fast is the Losi Mini T?
The stock Losi Mini-T 2.0 Brushless Edition can hit speeds of 28mph but modify you can hit speeds over 50mph. Stock Brushed Mini-T will be lucky to hit 15mph.
How big is Mini-T?
The Losi Mini-T is a 1/18 version of the old 1/10 XXX-T. The width is 7.07 in (179mm) – The length is 9.16 in (232mm) – with a height of 3.59 in (91mm) – With about an inch (24mm) of Ground Clearance.
