HOBBYWING Quicrun Fusion SE – best budget motor
The Verdict
The HOBBYWING Quicrun Fusion SE is by far the best system for the price. The Pro Ver. is nice as well you gain more speed and bottom in control with an okay price – IMO nowhere close to the best bang for your buck at the SE.

- To get the most out of your Hobbwing ESC you need a program card
Here is a good video comparing (SE 1800kV & SE 1200kV) by Crawler Canyon YT.
Note: Usually lower Kv / more turns are better – “Well” if you have fewer rules. with lower Kv you have more voltage, gear, and efficiency range. For example – many times with lower Kv you can get near equal wheel speed with lower temp, more torque, and longer runtimes. not to count you can run a smaller and less amp / C rating battery (you can get away with a cheaper battery)… but you must run more voltage to achieve this!!!
Video showing comparing Fusion SE vs Fusion Pro vs Spektrum Firma.
Note: The Fusion Pro has much better control in the startup / low rpm and is a better pick if you’re not on a budget – The Fusion SE works well on startup / low rpm for half the price of the other two the one in the video is Fusion SE 1800kv for a bit more speed. Still recommend the Fusion SE 1200kv it’s a better deal and has better low startup / low rpm control (you do lose a bit of top speed)

Why Upgrade to a Brushless Motor for Traxxas TRX-4? And Benefits of a Budget Brushless Motor Upgrade
Upgrading to a budget brushless motor offers several benefits for TRX-4 owners. Firstly, brushless motors are more efficient than brushed motors. They use less energy to produce more power, which means longer run times and less heat generation. Secondly, brushless motors have better acceleration and top speed than brushed motors. They can also provide more torque, which is essential for off-road vehicles that need to climb steep hills and obstacles. Lastly, brushless motors are more durable than brushed motors. They have fewer moving parts, which means less wear and tear and fewer maintenance requirements.
Factors to Consider Before Choosing a Budget Brushless Motor
Before purchasing a budget brushless motor for your TRX-4, you need to consider several factors. The first factor is the size of the motor. You need to ensure that the motor fits your TRX-4’s specifications and can handle the vehicle’s weight and size. The second factor is the motor’s KV rating, which is a measure of its speed. A higher KV rating means a faster motor, but it also means more heat generation and less torque. You need to choose a KV rating that matches your TRX-4’s intended use. The third factor is the motor’s construction and quality. You need to choose a motor that is well-built, durable, and can withstand tough off-road conditions.
