Items Needed for Rebuilding Shocks
- Small Flat Head Screwdriver: To take off the e-clips.
- Phillips Head Screwdriver: Older models – To take the shock off the tower and A-arms
- Hex Driver Set: To take the shock of the vehicle
- Needle Nose Pliers: To take off the shock bottom from the shock shaft
- Regular Pliers: To take off the shock cap and retainer cap
- Note: If you have Shock Pliers you don’t need the pliers above
- Shock Oil: 20wt – 60wt oil kit (usually 40wt or 500cst is the best balance)
- Traxxas Shock Rebuild Kit #2362: If your shocks are leaking
- Traxxas Long Shock Shaft #1664 or #1664T: If you need front shock shafts
- Traxxas XX-Long Shock Shaft #2656 or #2656T: If you need rear shock shafts
- Traxxas Shock Retainers and Piston Head Set #3768: If pistons are damaged
- Completed Traxxas Ultra Shocks (Front) #3760 or 3760A: Everything you need to complete the front shock assembly (X-rings)(shock bodies)(pre-load spacers) (springs)(shock oil)(limiters)
- Completed Traxxas Ultra Shocks (Rear) #3762 or #3762A: Everything you need to complete the rear shock assembly (X-rings)(shock bodies)(pre-load spacers) (springs)(shock oil)(limiters)
