Step #1 Locking Pliers (aka Vise-Grips).
look to see if there is any part of the screw reachable for a set of Locking Pliers (aka Vise-Grips). just grab on and turn and should spin out.
- If it’s slipping, a (Rotary Tool) can give an edge for more surface area to grab.
- If using (Rotary Tool). make sure you have room, not to cut other than the screw.
- Best used with socket head and button head screws
- Tools used in the picture “rusty” vice grips
Step #2 Rotary Tool (aka Dremel) with Flat Head Screwdriver.
Cut a slot in the middle of the screw and drive it out with a (Flat Head Screwdriver).
- You would need some surface exposed to cut with a (Dremel)
- Try cutting straight down. if you cut at an angle the driver sometimes tries to slip out
- A bigger (Screwdriver) is easier to use but you will need to cut a bigger slot and you will need more room around the screw.
- Best used with socket head and button head screws

Step #3 A Drill with Bit
just get a bit about the same size as the thread diameter and start drilling away.
- If the bit is too big you risk cutting more than the screw
- If unsure of the bit size start small and work your way up
- I find that extractor sets that have reverse bits on one side are the easiest, safest, and cheapest way out. (i use only the dill side with small screws)
- If using a regular drill bit, black oxide bits are the best for the money. reverse bits are better but you can use any
- Tools used in the picture Easy Out extractor set #1 #2 … #0 would probably work better
