DIY Body Washers — Less Noise & Paint Damage

The TT-02 body is held in place by body clips, but it can still move and rattle a little. I wanted to reduce the noise and keep the clips from rubbing directly against the paint.

I added rubber washers around the body posts:

Clip → rubber washer → body → rubber washer → clip

The rubber washers clamp the body more securely, reducing vibration. They also help protect the paint and provide a little cushion around the body posts.

A few things stood out:

Less noise: The rubber helps reduce vibration and body rattle.
Paint protection: The washers keep the clips from rubbing directly against the paint.
Body protection: They also provide a little cushioning around the body posts.
Downside: You have a few extra pieces to keep track of when removing the body.
Scale look: The washers raise the body slightly. For a more scale look, I’d use thinner washers.

Bottom line: It’s a simple DIY mod that reduces body noise and protects the paint, so I’ve been using it ever since.
